About: A leading Tier 1 Subcontractor to most of the UK’s leading Main Contractors such as but not limited to MACE, ISG, SKANSKA, Balfour Beatty & Sir Robert McAlpine.

J Coffey Construction became signatories to the Pledge in April 2020. WSP

About: Engineering professional services firm providing technical consultancy to the built and natural environment.

WSP is a founding member of Pledge to Net Zero and has 40 offices across the UK. Learn more about their target setting process and the challenges they overcame when measuring their emissions here. Including insights on measures WSP have introduced to reduce emissions, such as a staff flight and travel levy to incentivise low carbon ways to travel.

Emerald Green Environmental Management Services

Size: micro-consultancy
About: Emerald Green Environmental Management Services (EGEMS) is a northwest-based micro consultancy founded in 2019.

EGEMS became signatories to the Pledge in early 2020. This case study focuses particularly on saving carbon from reducing the room temperature, with EGEMS saving 17% off their annual gas use by turning down the thermostat by just 1.5ï‚°C. Learn more here

Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (IOM3)

Size: Around 40 employees
About: The Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (IOM3) is a major UK science and engineering institution and a registered charity governed by a Royal Charter.

IOM3 became signatories to the Pledge in early 2020. This case study focuses particularly on reducing their physical offices locations from four to two and transitioning site energy use to renewable energy. Learn more here

Pawprint

Size: 25 employees
About: Pawprint is a climate action platform designed to help businesses realise the strategic advantages of sustainability through data-driven insights and employee engagement. 

Pawprint became signatories to the Pledge in late 2021. This case study focuses particularly on Pawprint's employee benefits scheme, designed to incentivise carbon footprint reduction, for example a Slow Travel Days policy to help employees avoid flights when going on holiday. Learn more here

Beyondly

About: Beyondly is an environmental compliance and consultancy company based on a business park estate in Skipton, North Yorkshire.

Beyondly became signatories to the Pledge in 2020. This case study focuses particularly on Beyondly's initiatives to cut business travel and employee commuting emissions. Learn more here.

Wernick Group

About: A family-owned business established in 1934, The Wernick Group is a national provider of permanent and temporary modular buildings, site accommodation and off-grid power solutions. 

Wernick Group became signatories to the Pledge in late 2022. This case study, published for Net Zero Week 2023, covers their activity including upgrading LED lighting, solar panel installations and transitioning to an electric fleet. Learn more here.
